UFO Sighting in South Texas

Here's a news article I found this evening that was posted at KIII TV3 (South Texas) today, March 25, 2008:

On Monday night a viewer came by the station with video of a UFO he captured on his cellphone Saturday night. He says it was in the northern part of the sky and stayed there for 10-15 minutes. After hearing that story on our news, other viewers began to email and call us with their sighting claims. One man, Dennis Limon of Aransas Pass told us that he was out in front of his home when he spotted the object. It was large and yellow to orange in color. He claims that it also had a fire or sparks coming from behind the object. Federal officials at N-A-S Corpus Christi say that no one was manning their control tower over the weekend and at the airport nothing unusual was reported. Still, there are a number of eyewitnesses who saw they saw something in the sky. But what it was may remain a mystery.

This one is from Leigh and is in response to Anthony's sighting on March 4, 2008, received on March 22nd:

Your recent letter by Anthony hit me so hard I thought I was going to fall off my seat.
I too saw the same craft and had the same experience as he did.. My whole family witnessed it. I was about 12 at the time and I lived in Mesa (Dobson and Gaudalupe)
The craft was so large , it was what seemed to be the size of a football field.

We watched it come in from the west and fly directly over us at a very slow speed. It made a low warm hum , well more like a vibration. My father worked at Garrett at the time and said he never seen anything like it , nor heard of any plane capable of maneuvering like this craft did. We were very surprised that the incident was not on the news , thousands of people had to have seen it. The next day at school I said something to my teacher and he got very excited and had me go to the principle of the school to draw a picture of the craft we had seen. I am assuming it was to prove to her that he too had seen something.. I had a very strange thing happen several years later when I was sixteen.This happened in the same place I had seen the craft the first time. I pulled in front of my house and when I turned the car off I was surrounded (blinded) by the brightest blue/white light , a color I had never seem before which makes it difficult to even explain how brilliant it was. I felt a warm vibration and my car shook a bit . I remember thinking I had got hit by lightning, although it was a clear night. Then as quick as it happened it slipped my mind. when I walked in the door I got in trouble for being an hour late. I know I was on time when I arrived and was confused and forgot what had just happened.. I was at a friends house prior and called her to ask why her clocks were wrong and let her know I was now grounded . She said I left over an hour ago and if I went straight home there was no way I was an hour late. We still talk about that night to this day and it cant be explained. I wonder if the two incidents are related? Anyway , I have been waiting for years to hear someone else talk about that night and that ship.

The objects appear at different times during the night sometimes just before sunset or at dawn. The latest strangest of all appear to seperate and rejoin glowing low luminosity star red in the east southeast sky c. 10:15 p.m. EST. Object hurdled towards earth again at great velocity leaving no ionization trail characteristic of meteorite or comet. No explosion or report/s heard over scanners. Point of origin approximate 30-45 degrees above horizon. Earlier last month one silently buzzed the mountain west of here and continued on upward out of site and apparently out of atmosphere. Same color scheme except up closer looked like ball of gas plasma orangish like our sun but small. At first moving at exceptable air speed velocity but as appeared to ascend toward pleiades many times faster than any aircraft/projectile military/experimental that I know of to exist. Any ideas what these things are doing or what they may be. I am kind of thinking more along the lines of angelic pixies fairies those bubble thingies the witches traveled inside of in the wizard of oz.

Did u c the georgia dome incident the other night strange aperiodic oscillations, then this area had a few blackouts. Supposedly there is a secret installation associated with the old Rosman, N.C. tracking station used by the CIA during the cold war, the supposed name is area 21 or 22 according to different sources. I have seen many manned and unmanned aerial vehicles namely f-122a raptors marine issue equipped for vertical takeoff, dp-22 sparrows, several ground and aerial radar/microwave/far infrared military vehicles in the area. According to several older people who are my neighbors this stuff has been going on for years out here. Usually individuals who attempt to bring it to public attention or question its nature are defamed harrassed and sometimes attacked or their property or evidence is damaged. Just try doing an internet search including the words Pisgah Forest Experimental Jet Aircraft or any similar, the results read like some kind of crazy internet information jamming virus or something. I have contacted the FAA on several occassions after neighbors reported seeing crashes and explosions or planes flying way to low, they always tell me the same thing sir there are training excercises going on in the area that is all we can tell you. I think maybe some of the radio stuff the military is using maybe interfering with these entities or maybe they have obtained equipment and or fallen members of this race which are wanted back, I am not sure. I just know that this kind of interdimensional intergalactic activity has been brought to my attn since at least the age of 8 or 9. I think i am more observant or aware of this type of presence but I don't know what it means at all.

This one is from someone in Rancho Cucamonga in southern California. The sighting is believed to have been near Sunset Peak, north of Upland, California. Received March 18, 2008:

Tonight, 3/15/o8, aroun 8pm, i spotted what appeared to be a UFO. It was a bright flashing light that would move around but stayed in the same general area, and some flashes would be much brighter than others. It was there for about 10 minutes before vanishing. I couldnt tell the shape too well because of the heavy fog. I have never seen anything like it before.

Georgia-03-12-I looked outside and saw two objects go over my house. They were so low, they could have landed: a small object followed. It was like a disk, with a red and white light underneath. The red light was blinking.

I heard no sounds until it went over and I watched out the front of my house. It was still tree- top level. It was like looking at two ships playing tag with each other. The sound was a loud "whoosing." I followed it for about 3 to 5 minutes. My cats were acting strangely, and I was really excited. I didn't sleep until after the event. Nevada-03-13-I was sitting outside smoking a cigarette, facing northwest, on a clear day with only a few wispy clouds. I routinely watch the skies. I noticed a bright deep-orange object almost drifting from SSW to NNE across my line of vision. At first, I thought I was seeing an inflated advertising balloon/blimp that had come un-tethered and was escaping.

There was only a slight breeze on the ground, less than 5 MPH probably, and the few scattered clouds were not visibly moving at all. This orange object did not drift upward, as an escaping balloon might. It moved steadily in a horizontal NNE direction, at about 75-80 degrees above the horizon. I got a pair of (inexpensive) binoculars and with them the object appeared to be a bright orange cube, slowly rotating on one point of the cube, with black semicircular areas at the two corners of the cube, which were the leading edge and trailing edges of the cube, given the direction of travel.

These semicircles were large, deep black, and pulsated on and off at regular intervals. It made no sound, had no visible means of propulsion, and was moving slowly and steadily. I cannot estimate the height or size of the object very well. It was at approximately 75-80 degrees above the horizon, and could have been any distance out from me. Texas-November/December, 2007-White Oak-It was a Thursday, but I do not remember the exact date. I walked outside of my workplace and looked toward the west/southwest and noticed what looked to be a weird orange/yellow cloud. It was some distance away-I could not determine exactly how far. It didn't appear to move. I thought the moon was playing tricks on the clouds until I actually saw the moon at another position in the sky.

I continued to watch for approximately 1 minute. It seemed as if it was a plane exploding with the fuel causing a huge fire. I saw the silhouette of what appeared to be debris shooting out of the flame just before it disappeared, an hour later or so. I heard what appeared to be numerous helicopters. I searched the media, but came up with no plane crash/missing flights that were reported. I saw the Stephenville UFO reports in the media and did some research. I'm approximately 200 miles away from there in the same direction I saw the explosion. Perhaps something crashed and they came to find it? source: www.mufon.com

Texas-02-07- I was driving at night close to home, and up in the trees I saw an amber, glowing triangle (it was almost the color of my street light but more amber). The bottom had what appeared to be nine round disk lights that seem brighter than the rest of the body. It also had 3 rounded corners. It had substance as the sides seemed to curve around upward making it 3-dimensional, not flat looking.

I could not tell if it was moving or not as I was driving and trying to pay more attention to the road, although I was close to turning into my driveway. When I turned in, the object was then too high and on my right side where the car roof blocked it, and I was scared to stop and get out. I have looked again at night from the same vantage point and have not seen it or any lights that I could have mistaken for the object. I had not had any drinks or drugs that would impair my recollection of what I saw. I did not tell anyone except my husband, for fear I would be called a nut. Belize-03-12-08-Local news reports that Belmopan residents report seeing UFOs. Love News received reports that a few residents in the Belmopan area saw some bright lights over the hills in the direction of the University Heights area. We were told that the unidentified objects were bright fireball-like lights that came on and off for about 30 seconds at a time. This lasted for more than two hours.

One resident claimed that some two years ago, similar objects were seen in the night skies from Belmopan and wondered if it could be UFOs. We were also told by one of the viewers who have a lot of experience with flares and fire displays that what he saw was nothing similar to what he knows about flares and fires.

Huge Chunk Of Ice Collapses In Antarctica

Scientists flocked to take pictures and shoot video after a massive chunk of the Wilkins ice shelf collapsed in Antarctica.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A chunk of Antarctic ice about seven times the size of Manhattan suddenly collapsed, putting an even greater portion of glacial ice at risk, scientists said Tuesday.

Satellite images show the runaway disintegration of a 160-square-mile chunk in western Antarctica, which started February 28. It was the edge of the Wilkins ice shelf and has been there for hundreds, maybe 1,500 years.

This is the result of global warming, said British Antarctic Survey scientist David Vaughan.

Because scientists noticed satellite images within hours, they diverted satellite cameras and even flew an airplane over the ongoing collapse for rare pictures and video.

"It's an event we don't get to see very often," said Ted Scambos, lead scientist at the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colorado. "The cracks fill with water and slice off and topple... That gets to be a runaway situation."

Scientists said the rest of the ice shelf is hanging on by a thin beam of ice and is also in danger of collapsing.

While icebergs naturally break away from the mainland, collapses like this are unusual but are happening more frequently in recent decades, Vaughan said. The collapse is similar to what happens to hardened glass when it is smashed with a hammer, he said.

The rest of the Wilkins ice shelf, which is about the size of Connecticut, is holding on by a narrow beam of thin ice. Scientists worry that it too may collapse. Larger, more dramatic ice collapses occurred in 2002 and 1995.

Vaughan had predicted the Wilkins shelf would collapse about 15 years from now.

Scientists said they are not concerned about a rise in sea level from the latest event in Antarctica, but say it's a sign of worsening global warming.

Such occurrences are "more indicative of a tipping point or trigger in the climate system," said Sarah Das, a scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.

Latest UFO Sightings For March 21, 2008

Here are the latest UFO sightings as reported to Billy Booth at About.com.

Florida-02-26-08-On Tuesday, February 26, around 9:30 PM, I was pulling into my driveway in rural north Florida, when I noticed a beautiful, golden orb that looked much like a large Venus, Saturn, or a star, standing in the south sky. It was a clear, starry night, and I could see many stars and planets, but this was about 5 times the size of the largest stars visible. I quickly jumped out of the car to get a better view of the magnificent sight!

As I stood perfectly still watching this golden orb, it made a quick, short horizontal movement back and forth. Then to my astonishment, another beautiful orb exactly like the first one came zipping out of nowhere and stood next to the first orb. For a few seconds, neither of them moved. Then suddenly they both began to move quickly back and forth in a rocking movement much as if they were dancing with each other.

With another quick movement, the one to the right zipped out of sight. The movement was much faster than that of a shooting star, and I barely caught a glimpse of a light trail for a split second. I quickly ran inside to call my family out to see the awesome sight, but when we came back out, both golden orbs were gone! source: www.mufon.com Indiana-03-05-08-I have not personally seen this, but three different coworkers on two nights in a row have seen orange lights in the sky to the west of where we work. The first man described the two orange lights a bit away from each other, then they moved together and disappeared.

The other two men saw these same lights the next night together, but they said there were three that disappeared and reappeared before disappearing totally. I'm pretty sure the first man only told me about his sighting, so I doubt the three are trying to trick me.

Finally, right after the two men saw the lights, another coworker who has a radio told me that several people in the city were calling into the radio station about the lights. Michigan-02-27-08-On Thursday night at 8:30 PM, my husband saw a UFO-we are in upper northern Michigan. He said it was low, had 4 or 5 lights on it, and was across the lake. The lights went off one by one and the last one stayed on.

It went over the house and did not have the sound of a plane. After talking to some people in town, we found that other people saw and heard it also. source: www.mufon.com

New York-03-06-08-I was on my way home with a friend, and I saw what I assumed was a plane, and jokingly said it was a UFO. It was moving slower than most planes, but I figured it was nothing unusual. The object was moving south-southwest. I turned down a street, and the object was now going northeast, and looking in my rear view mirror, I could've sworn it stopped for a few seconds.

Noting this, I immediately turned around and sped in the direction of the object. At this point, my car and the object were going north. I followed it for about 5 blocks, and then it was going north-northwest. As far as I know the street I was on is almost perfectly north to south. I lost sight of the object when I got to the elevated train tracks.

This object turned faster than planes can, and it was flying lower than most planes usually do. I also thought about it being a helicopter, but the placement of the lights was wrong. I know there is a small airport a few towns over, but the shape, speed, and altitude seemed all wrong for it to be a small plane or helicopter. source: www.mufon.com

United Kingdom-03-06-08-St.Teath-While watching the stars at about 11.30 PM, I saw a single ball of high intensity white light heading in my direction. It was very fast, silent and very near to the ground. It made me instinctively duck down as it got near. I would estimate it was only 25-30 feet off the ground.

It scared the life out of me. It was about the size of a large beach ball, but I had no idea what it was. The sighting lasted only a few seconds. There was a clear sky, with good weather. The object headed north toward the sea, and went out of sight in seconds, and I had a long field of view from where I was standing. source: www.mufon.com

Dad says he felt 'weird sensation' before microwaving baby

GALVESTON — Joshua Royce Mauldin felt a "weird sensation" and lost control of his actions before placing his 2-month-old daughter in a microwave oven, according to a video of his statement to police shown during his trial today.

"I felt a weird sensation, a crazy sensation," Mauldin, 20, of Warren, Ark., said in the video of his interview with Galveston police Detective Holly Johnson.

At the direction of attorneys during her testimony, Johnson read from psychological evaluations done when Mauldin was a teenager in which he reports hearing voices that threaten to kill him if he doesn't do what they want.

In the video shown to the jury on the fourth day of his trial on a charge of injury to a child, Mauldin said he felt like "a shell and a hot fire inside, right in your stomach. At that point I had no control over my body.

"I could see what was going on, but I couldn't do anything about it."

Mauldin described how he tossed his daughter from one bed to another in a motel room on Seawall Boulevard after checking in with his family shortly after midnight on May 10 last year.

He told Johnson that after his wife, Eva, left the room, he punched his daughter in the groin, slapping his fist into his palm to show how much force he used. He then put Anna Murphy into the motel room safe, then the refrigerator before placing her in the microwave for about 10 seconds.

Mauldin said he finally came to his senses and realized what he was doing. "When I got control over my body, I freaked out," he told Johnson. "I wouldn't do that."

He then says that most people would think he is crazy.

"Do you think you're crazy?" Johnson asks. Mauldin replies, "No."

Later in the video, Mauldin uses a Teddy bear to re-create the actions leading to Anna being placed in the microwave oven. He said he gently folded her legs to get her in the oven and that she was facing him.

Mauldin later begins sobbing when Johnson hands him photos of Anna's injuries. He said he first told officials that Anna was sunburned during the drive from Arkansas, then concocted a story about spilling hot water on her while making coffee after being told that the burns could not have been caused by the sun.

He said he kept the truth from his wife for several days.

He also tells Johnson that he brought his wife, daughter, mother and younger brother to Galveston because he was called by the Lord to be a preacher.

"He told me to come here," Mauldin says. God had also shown him "signs," he said.

Mauldin also said Galveston had more churches than Warren, giving him a better chance of getting a job as an assistant pastor.

After the video was shown, attorneys asked Johnson to read from Mauldin's psychological records. One of the records shows that his wife and mother tried to have him involuntarily committed less than a month before he took his family to Galveston.

Assistant District Attorney Xochitl Vandiver said the report indicated his wife and mother wanted Mauldin committed because he had taken up with another woman.

Johnson read from several reports in which Mauldin complains about voices that speak to him all day long and threaten to kill him if he fails to carry out their wishes. One evaluation says that he can control the voices but will eventually lose control.

The reports, done by different doctors and clinics over several years, are sometimes contradictory in their evaluations. Another report says he lied about hearing voices as an excuse to quit a football team.

Mauldin's attorney, Sam Cammack III, has tried to cast doubt on whether Anna was burned in the microwave. A state Department of Public Safety lab technician testified that Anna's DNA was found in 10 places in the microwave oven. Her DNA was not found in the safe or refrigerator.

The prosecution completed its case against Mauldin after the DNA testimony. The defense began its case.

Anna received second- and third-degree burns to the left side of her face, left shoulder and left hand and forearm. She underwent several skin grafts and is living with relatives in Brazos County.

Mauldin has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to injury of a child, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

If found not guilty by reason of insanity, state District Judge Susan Criss could order him confined to a mental institution for life.

Latest UFO Sightings for March 18, 2008

I apologize that I am a bit late on this. I have been incredibly busy with work, and have little time for my side projects. But, here are the most recent UFO sightings as reported to Billy Booth at About.com.

Arizona-02-26-08-Tuesday night we decided to go up to Laughlin to the UFO Congress so we could touch base with Leo Sprinkle. We dropped the dogs off in Peoria and took I-17 to 74 to 93. While driving on 93, I noticed an unusually high number of lights in the sky, too numerous and too concentrated to be aircraft. We did notice at least three jets, because the lights on them were typical aircraft lights and not as bright.

The UFO lights were brilliant white with a blue hue to them. They appeared to "jump" and maneuver erratically. We also saw three to four flares to the east of these lights. I told Paul these were not planes, and for awhile he disagreed with me, until he also saw them "jump, " then they got into a formation and formed a perfect circle and all blinked on their lights at the same time for only a split second while in the circle formation, but it was very visible and apparent. There were at least 15-20 lights in the circle. After this, they seemed to disappear for a while. This sighting continued for about two hours from about 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM until we got to I-40 in Kingman. source: www.mufon.com

California-02-26-08-I saw a glowing object in the sky. The object flew from south to north. I could not tell at what altitude it was, but it appeared to travel the entire sky in about 6 seconds. It was faintly lit and did not look like a falling star or an airplane.

It seemed too slow for a falling star and too fast for an airplane. It seemed to be a light orange-red color. Strange Indeed. source: www.mufon.com

California-02-27-08-My wife and I were down in Point Loma at the old NTC base at about 6:45 PM, February 27, 2008, looking southwest when we saw 3 disc -like glowing objects with a yellowish glow. They were floating in position, with no noise, for about a minute.

Then the one on the far right just disappeared, almost like it evaporated. Then within seconds the other two did the same thing. This was witnessed by about 10 people. source: www.mufon.com

Iowa-02-27-08-My wife and I were in our car driving home from my work. While traveling north on I-29 I noticed an object on the Nebraska side of the Missouri river flying to the west at what seemed to be a very low velocity, and at low altitude. I first thought it was an airplane. There is a small civilian airport/Air National Guard Base about 5 miles to the south of the area of my sighting.

To my knowledge, the airfield services small and medium commercial aircraft. The Guard operates KC-135 tankers. The object had flashing lights on it, similar to an aircraft. Indeed I first thought it was an airplane. But there was also a row of lights in a V- formation that seemed to strobe or flash in a distinct pattern. I observed this object for about 5 minutes until I lost sight of it as we traveled further north. source: www.mufon.com

Van Wert, Ohio-Date Unspecified-My son, husband and I were in the backyard looking for meteors. We saw an object about the size of a softball, glowing bright yellow (with a strobe light). The object came through the northeast corner of our backyard, silently flew through the yard diagonally, and turned west at the corner of our house and flew beside our home.

It was only 8-10 feet off the ground. We were so dumbfounded that we all just stood there and didn't say anything for a bit. Sadly and regrettably, we didn't follow it. I would have thought I was nuts if my husband and son hadn't seen it too.

It was definitely not a meteor... it was too low... it flew slowly and was low to the ground and the light blinked with a strobe, slowly and methodically... not erratically. My son is 14, my husband is co-manager of a local grocery, and I am a church secretary. Sighting of Flare-like Lights In Forest Near Parks, Arizona

This sighting comes from Brian in AZ:

While driving on a forest service road in Sept. of 1982 near Parks Arizona, a friend and I saw some very strange flare like lights streaking up from the ground. It was about 9pm and we were looking for a spot to camp. I was driving and my friend was shining a spot light out the passenger side window. He told me to "stop and look at this". I looked out through the forest in the direction of the spot light and could see nothing but forest to the end of the light. But when Howard turned off the spot, an orange flare like light with a round head and a wavering tail shot up from the ground to a height of about 200 ft.. At first we thought that it was somebody with a flare gun having fun. But after five minutes of shining the spot light through the forest and having a flare go up each time the spot light was turned off (probably 40-50 times) we decided it probably wasn't a flare gun. The spot light appeared to have a direct effect on what was causing the flare like light to shoot up. We were very curious but too spooked to hike out to see what was out there (probably about 1/4 mile away). We drove out and called the sheriffs office but they were not interested in investigating.

1. Believe telepathy is possible
At the very least, keep an open mind as to whether or not it is possible for someone to have telepathic skills. If you believe it's not possible, your mind will conspire with you to make sure that you are right (unless you're mind is feeling really evil of course, in which case it will set out to disprove you!)

2. Find a practice partner
If you've got someone local to you who also wants to become telepathic, that's great. If not, have a search online for a telepathy forum and team up with someone on there. Like everything, the more you practice the better you'll get. Having a telepathy partner will help you in several ways, including the encouragement that is so vital in the early stages. Meet up to practice in person or use instant messaging or Skype for an impromptu session.

3. Or do it on your own
If you really can't find a partner, don't despair. There are ways that you can practice telepathy on your own. For instance, you could shuffle a pack of cards and deal them out face down and use your new found skills to determine which card it is. There are easily available telepathy downloads that you can get hold of which will help you to improve your telepathy on your own.

4. Practice little and often
Especially when you start, it's quite a strain on your mind so keep your practice sessions short. Also make sure your energy levels are high before you start - some exercise will help with this.

5. Get some ESP test cards
You can order these online - even Amazon stock them, so don't worry about how to find ESP cards. Practice with these to help build your confidence. Some sets come with instructions for developing your skills - these are good if you are just starting out.

6. Learn to relax
Sometimes when we learn something new, we try too hard. You've probably done this before. The harder you try, the more difficult the task becomes and the more frustrated you get. Relax. Let it be OK that sometimes you're not as good as you'd like to be, especially when you're just beginning telepathy. 7. Use telepathy in your dreams
That's right, you're not limited to using telepathy in a waking state. You can learn to control your dreams - start by keeping a dream journal where you write down your dreams as soon as you wake up. The more you do this, the more of your dreams will get remembered. Then start to receive telepathic thoughts in your dreams - these can come from all sorts of places, but many people report receiving them from friends and relatives who have passed over "to the other side".

UFO Snapped Over Thames

STUDENT was left shocked when she checked her tourist snaps of the London skyline - and spotted what looks like a flying saucer.

University Of Exeter academic Karolina-Slavka Mueller was in London for the weekend, when she took some shots with her camera phone of the sights.

But when she looked back at the January 19 night time pictures of Tower Bridge and the London Eye, she was shocked to see an apparent UFO.

And experts claim it is the real thing.

Karolina said in an email: "What's very strange about this is the fact that we didn't actually see this object in the sky while I was taking the photos.

"I only discovered it once I loaded the photos onto my computer as I didn't even look at the photos until then."

The images - taken around 3.50am - were taken eight minutes apart as Karolina and two pals drove through Central London.

The apparent UFO is at an angle and appears to emit a mysterious blue light.

Karolina added: "None of us can come up with a reasonable answer to what this might have been.

"One of my friends, the driver, has grown up in London and he can't find a reasonable answer.

"He says he's never seen anything like it and that there definitely isn't any building in this area that could look like this."

UFO experts have been left scratching their heads over the sighting.

Editor, cameraman and UFO researcher Chris Martin said: "I was looking for evidence that these have been fabricated.

"I couldn't find any evidence. It's unprecedented because she produced three pictures, which seems to show it's flying.

"My own evaluation is that these photographs are genuine and have not been digitally manipulated or hoaxed."

He added: "These photos are, in my opinion as a UFO researcher, absolutely astounding and show a real object seemingly under intelligent control.

"This is a classic flying saucer-shaped UFO."

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson did not comment on the sighting, saying: "The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromisedby hostile or unauthorised military activity.

"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

Woodford Green UFO Spotter Claims Cover-up

A man who spotted a UFO in the skies above Woodford Green believes there is a conspiracy to cover up "something strange" about Woodford.

The Ministry of Defence has appealed for calm after sightings over Woodford Green last weekend.

Two residents have contacted the Guardian saying they saw a strange object flying through the sky above the Winston Churchill statue.

Construction worker Darrell Greenway, 19, told the Guardian he believes it could indicate that an alien invasion is about to happen.

A government spokeswoman said residents should not be alarmed by the sighting, but Mr Greenway is convinced that what he saw was a hostile alien craft.

He said: "I was walking down the road with my friend by the Cricketers Pub on the High Road, it was a really sunny day.

"Someone shouted oh my God what's that?' I looked up and there was this white-grey dish-like thing up in the sky.

"It wasn't a plane because it didn't have any fuel coming from it.

"It was going really fast, and it was quite low, about the height of Canary Wharf."

He added: "I think it was aliens. I know people who have also seen strange things in sky - there's something secretly going on with Woodford."

But the MoD dismissed the claims.

Spokeswoman Susan Coulthard said: "It's certainly common that people see something they don't understand.

"There are many possible explanantions for such sightings, whether it is aircraft, ballons or other similar objects."

She added: "we are scanning the skies all the time for security reasons, so the chances of a member of the public seeing something that we don't know about are remote."

"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

Ms Coulthard said the ministry had not received any reports of sightings in Redbridge.

She added: "Do people living in Woodford need to be worried? No they do not."

However Mr Greenway disagrees.

"They are trying to cover it up" he said.

UFO 'seen hovering over village' near Wrexham

A north east Wales resident has called for an explanation after spotting a UFO.

The man, who did not want to be named, claims to have seen a strange object in the sky above Overton, near Wrexham, at about 6am on Friday.

This is the latest in a string of UFO sightings in the Wrexham area in recent months, prompting one flying saucer enthusiast to dub the region "a UFO hot spot".

In July last year, the Evening Leader had its largest ever internet response to a video, posted on its website, of 'UFOs' which had been seen by a number of people over Borras.

Referring to the latest sighting, the Overton resident said: "I don't want to be made a laughing stock, but I thought I'd let you know I saw a UFO this morning over Overton at around 5.40am.

"I viewed it for three minutes or so. I hope it was a plane or something but I was watching it for a while and it didn't ring of a plane to me. I'm just hoping someone else has seen it so I don't look silly."

One of Britain's most famous UFO incidents, dubbed North Wales' very own 'Roswell incident' allegedly occurred on the Berwyn Mountains in 1974.

On the evening of January 23, dozens of witnesses from across Lancashire and Cheshire had called the police earlier in the evening and reported seeing a strange formation of lights flying erratically over the skies of the north-west.

At about 8.30pm that night, a large disc-like obnject was seen falling from the sky over what was when Clwyd and apparently crashed into the Berwyn mountains near Llandrillo, leaving an orange glow which radiated in the sky over the spot for a few minutes.

Police and military apparently converged on the crash site within minutes, cordoning the area off from public view.

What is most bizarre is that at the same time as the 'crash', tremors were recorded, measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale, which shook nearby villages.

Due to the volume of 'Freedom of Information' requests on UFO sightings, the Ministry of Defence plans to release a total of 160 files dating back to the inception of their UFO project in 1950.

The files will be given to the National Archives in Kew and the first are expected to be made available in the spring.

MoD releases secret files on UFOs

Confidential Ministry of Defence files on Unidentified Flying Objects are set to be made public.

Hundreds of documented sightings of UFOs across the UK will be released by the MoD to the National Archive in the coming weeks.

Detailed accounts of sightings in the Bonnybridge area are expected to be among the files.

The Stirlingshire town became famous in the 1990s after dozens of locals reported objects in the sky.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said the secret files date back more than 10 years.

He said: "The files contain information about UFO sightings by members of the public and include photographs that people have taken or drawings they have done.

"There is no scientific data included in the files just the public reports which may also include a comment from nearby RAF bases saying whether there was flight activity when the sightings took place."

Earlier files released by the MoD have concluded that UFO sightings could be attributed to natural phenomena in the atmosphere.

'Ongoing issue'

Bonnybridge councillor Billy Buchanan, who said he had seen UFOs on many occasions, said the release of the files was good news.

He said: "The more information that comes out about the sightings the more it gives credibility to all those, including myself, who have been ridiculed by speaking out.

"On a number of occasions I have seen something that cannot be rationally defined.

"It's an ongoing issue for Bonnybridge with many of the area's elderly people getting concerned when they cannot explain something they've seen in the sky."

Silver Sphere UFO Sighting in Arizona

Below is a new UFO report I recently received from a reader named Anthony:

When I was around 10 years old about the year 1975, I was at some relatives home out in the country surrounded by fields near the town of Gilbert, Arizona. I was near the field near a ditch shooting my bee bee gun when I looked up in the sky and saw towards the west slightly north at about 200 yards away was a big silver sphere with what looked like rivets on sections of the sphere as how it was put together. It was just sitting there in the sky making no noise not moving at all, about 200 yards above the ground and 200 yards away. It seem to be huge from my sight about 50 yards across in size. I just stared up at it in amazement, for no reason at all I ignored it and went back to looking at the ground shooting my bee bee gun but then decided to look up again and it was a little farther away and a little higher now and south west of me. Then from that point my memory goes blank for the rest of the day.

I do not know why, but I never told and body about it that day and never gave it another thought. Years later I told some friends while partying what I had seen and all they said was give me some of what you are on.

Some times I feel that the aliens on the ship took me up to their space craft and did something with me but what I do not know and made me forget about it and not tell no one about it that day or not think much of it. I know it sounds crazy.

California-02-13-08-I've been noticing a lot of strange lights in Sacramento's skies lately. I've always watched the skies at night and never have I seen the activity I've seen this past week. This particular night I had already seen a light similar to the one I'm about to describe. They seem like plane lights, but there are no blinking lights, in fact, it is like one big bright light, and it doesn't fly the same or make any sound like a plane would.

My boyfriend and I were on a drive and we got off I-50 on Sunrise going north. As we turned, I looked up and saw one of the bright lights I've been seeing... so I decided to just watch it and see what it would do. It was flying towards us with some speed, not as much as an airplane might, then it got over a big building. I think it was a hotel, but I'm not positive, as soon as it got over the building, it stopped. It was so abrupt, at first I wondered if I was actually sure which direction it was moving in except that I realized it wasn't moving the opposite direction either.

California-02-15-08-I was in Porterville, California on 02-15-08, at about 6:30 PM. We were waiting for the UPS truck to come with a part for a washing machine.

The dog started barking and I said, "That might be the UPS truck."

I walked outside and down the driveway a bit. Over in the south closer to the horizon was a bright red round object. It was bigger than a star, red as a stoplight, but not quite as bright. It was turning eastward when something red fell off of it and came straight down.

Then another smaller object fell off the other one and fell straight down too. I am sure it was not a comet, meteor, or plane. The smaller piece falling looked almost like you would see fire dropping down. I have no idea what is was and no idea if I should tell anyone.

When it happened I thought about a rocket, but didn't see anything go up-it was just there and moving about the speed of an airplane. It didn't upset me or anything like that. But it was so strange I got to wondering what it might have been. Submitted by Carol to http://ufos.about.com

California-02-16-08-We were on our balcony at 11:20 PM looking west when I noticed a triangular formation of approximately seven white/amber ovoid lights moving from the southwest to the northwest at about 75 degrees up from the western horizon.

The formation moved slowly, yet made quick rearrangement into a "T" shaped formation, then about ten seconds later changed into a horizontal line... all while continuing to move to the north.

The entire sighting lasted about 45 seconds, which was the time it took to cross the sky. The objects faded as they continued north. We heard no sound during or after the sighting, aside from a much closer prop driven airplane.

Indiana-02-16-08-We were driving home from Merrillville on US route 2 when right outside of Valparaiso we saw many bright, strange lights in the distance. My son and boyfriend were present at the time. The objects looked like they were hovering off in the distance, some not moving, some seemed to be connected to one another then split off.

We watched one moving that stopped in midair then did a U-turn of sorts. At first we thought it was about 15 planes flying low in a pattern, but as one got closer it was noticeable that it was no plane. It was huge and made no sound, very low and very weird bright lights.

As we were driving, I rolled my window all the way down and stuck my head and body out the window to watch it fly over the car. The Moon was behind it and emitted enough light that I got a very clear picture of its shape. It was no plane-it was triangular and had 3 very bright lights at the points. The weird thing was the underneath. There were many lights with one red light in the middle. My son watched it go over from the back window.

I was scared and I told my boyfriend to rush home to our other children. We were all scared to even turn on the radio. I was worried about what we'd hear on the news. I am not joking. Mississippi-02-14-08-In the city of Brooklyn at about 8:00 PM, I witnessed a small, green light in the sky. The green light came to a complete stop in the sky, and then appeared to descend into a wooded area. The sky was fairly clear, and I saw no other aircraft in the area. California-12-08-08-San Diego-There has been an ongoing flap which I believe began late last year, (as observed) and continues to this day. I live in the Ocean Beach area. Yesterday I saw 2 silver triangles that appeared to have telescopic booms on them.

Colorado-02-08-08-Early Friday morning, I had just filled my second cup of coffee, and wandered out on my back deck to gaze at the stars noticing how beautiful Venus and Mars look in their morning cycle. It was getting cold, so just as I started to head in I gazed directly overhead noticing a rather large triangular "something" cruising through the skies.

It had three bright lights on each corner, and no stars were visible within the triangle, telling me what I was seeing was a solid craft. I then quickly grabbed my camera, and as I headed back outside I saw the craft quickly jog to the north, then stop. That's when I saw a smaller triangular craft rise up from behind a hill. It trailed some kind of plasma exhaust as it rose to meet the larger craft.

Just then the larger craft shot a beam toward the smaller craft. This lasted about 9 seconds, and then the smaller craft shot off into the night unbelievably quick. Almost at the same time, the larger craft disappeared. To my surprise, when I examined my snapshot I had captured the event. There has been strange events happening over the skies of Evergreen for two weeks prior to this event-lights appearing in one location, disappearing, and reappearing in another spot. Lights hovering, then slowly drifting around to then disappear.

Iowa-02-09-08-I have reported this object to you guys before but I have seen it for a second time tonight in Ankeny outside of the DMACC campus as I was heading towards my car. I noticed a bright white light in the sky. At first the object was heading north but as I was observing it, it started to come my way.(west) Then the flashing light died out, then came back on, but this time it started flashing very slowly and then the object started glowing red. It also looked stationary.

I was walking with a fellow student at the time, but I didn't want to sound stupid and point out the craft in the sky. Texas-02-09-08-El Paso-Just a note to you because I saw my first UFO today after being interested in this field for some time. I live in El Paso and while standing in the lot of a local car dealer waiting on my truck to be inspected I was looking up as I do frequently these days. I was curious about the absence of any lingering contrail. Anyway, I saw a shape which seemed to be reflecting the sunlight fly by in a wide arc heading south to Juarez from the west.

It was about 10:00 AM, and the sky was as clear as it could be. The object I saw seemed to change shape as if it was a box that was tumbling through the air. It was escorted by a smaller dot of light. I looked and couldn't make out any wings or fuselage but eventually turned away. 5 minutes later I checked for it again, and it was across the border and apparently over Juarez, Mexico.

Now, however, it was escorted by about approximately 12 smaller dots of light that seemed to move independently of it. I watched for a few minutes longer until all the lights disappeared. Canada-02-10-08-British Columbia-My husband came to the door yelling for me to come look outside. There were two bright, white lights about the size of a street light if you were a block away from one, slowly descending from the sky. They were coming from the south heading north. One was slower than the other. One eventually blinked out to where we couldn't see it anymore.

The other continued to descend, then leveled out and continued making a turn then straight again. We watched it for about 5-10 minutes. When the light blinked very dull then it went behind a cloud. My mother called for me to bring the binoculars to her house. Three of them were watching it too.

At approximately 8:45 PM down at the lake, a large glowing object was moving fast from west to east if I have my directions right.
