It's time again for the latest UFO sightings as reported to Billy Booth at UFOs/Aliens.

12-17-Florida-While walking on the beach at Cherie Down Park, the witness looked out over the ocean. He spotted a Navy submarine going out toward Cape Canaveral. He then noticed an object that resembled a pie pan, turned upside down. The object was metallic, with an extension on its top. It looked transparent, like a cover on a dish. The witness could also see a horizontal line which spanned the circumference of the object. There were no wings or propellors. The object was flying over the restricted air space of the Cape. Taking his eye away from the object for only a few seconds to check on the submarine, the object had disappeared when he looked back. www.mufon.com

North Carolina-12-11-In Fayetteville, about 8:00 PM, our witness was sitting on his porch, when he saw an unusual object. He thought it might be a comet at first, but after a moment or two, he was sure it was not by its characteristics. He was so excited by the object that he called his daughter in Miami to tell her about it. His friend was called from the house, and brought her binoculars. Through the magnification, the object seemed to have a head to it, and a fuzzy tail, but it didn't follow the normal course or speed of a comet, as they watched it for at least 10 minutes slowly traverse the sky. www.about.com

Oregon-12-17-The witness was putting his dog in its cage outside when he saw a chevron-shaped object moving over the hillside on his property. He could see the outline of the object as it swayed back and forth. The object was much longer than any plane would be, and flew completely different. The object stayed visible for a half-hour, before finally disappearing behind the hillside. www.mufon.com

Ohio-12-20-The witness was leaving work, and as he walked to the parking lot, he noticed a flat object in the distance. He thought maybe it was an airplane, but as he got a closer look, he could see the object spinning as it went. The object moved from southeast to northwest of his position, and he got one view of it from underneath. He could see up through the center: the object was shaped like an inner tube. www.mufon.com

Canada-12-17-From the Operations Center at the Canadian Department of National Defense came the following report: On Monday, December 17, near Saguenay, Quebec, at 6:44 PM, a man and his wife were eating dinner, and outside of their window, a bright object was observed. The object appeared as a red ball with a white sparkling light surrounding it. It was unlike anything they had seen before. They reported that the unknown object was moving toward the north, and was in clear view for 10 seconds or more. The sky was overcast at the time, but its extreme brightness made it easy to see. canufo@yahoogroups.com

Stargates Are Real

I spent the better part of yesterday reading this thread at AboveTopSecret. It had me so captivated, I didn't do a bit of work and was glued to my PC screen for about 12 hours! The author of that thread is extremely intelligent and she has done extensive research on the Annunaki, Elohim, the Nephilim, stargates, etc., has read many historical texts, and has written three e-books on these subjects, which I intend to read ASAP and I encourage you to do the same. I haven't made it all the way through the thread at ATS, yet, though. I think I'm on page 17, or something like that, and I guess I'll get back to it later on today, after I get a little work done.

Here's an excerpt from one of the first posts she made:

"Nearly every ancient civilization refers to a place called the "underworld" and a place called the heavens, both of which appear to be more than simply metaphors for the planets and stars rising and setting into and over the horizon. The ancient Hindus and some of the Buddhists, said the only way to access the upper levels of heaven was via Mt. Meru (also called Mt. Sumeru), which wasn't an actual mountain but a reference to a ziggurat in ancient Sumer (this is the pivotal point, but I don't want to overload your circuits with too much information if you aren't aware of any of these ancient stories). The ancient egyptians also believed in an entrance to the underworld and a boat which travelled on heavenly waters (et.al, a mode of transportation) which carried them into the heavens. The ancient sumerians referred to otherworldly places which were accessed via gateways into the underworld, and gates up to the heavens."

I have always been fascinated with ancient civilizations, and I wish there was enough time in a day to study some of the historical texts like "The Epic of Gilgamesh" and "The Book of Enoch." The thing is, I have these texts in my library, but have never even opened them. Such a shame. But I will make the time soon, because all this stuff is just so fascinating!

Asteroid On A Collision Course With Mars!

Researchers say the object, about 160 feet across, has an unusually good chance of striking the planet on January 30th.

This is unnerving. I remember back in 1994 when comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 plowed into Jupiter. It was a long time before the dust settled! Now it's Mars. How much longer before it's Earth that is struck by a comet or asteroid? Very scary to think about!

Named after the british astronomer Edward W. Maunder, is located halfway between Argyre Planitia and Hellas Planitia on the southern highlands of Mars.

An asteroid similar to the one that flattened forests in Siberia in 1908 could plow into Mars next month, scientists said Thursday.

Researchers attached to NASA's Near-Earth Object Program, who sometimes jokingly call themselves the Solar System Defense Team, have been tracking the asteroid since its discovery in late November.

The scientists, at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Cañada Flintridge, put the chances that it will hit the Red Planet on Jan. 30 at about 1 in 75.

A 1-in-75 shot is "wildly unusual," said Steve Chesley, an astronomer with the Near-Earth Object office, which routinely tracks about 5,000 objects in Earth's neighborhood.

"We're used to dealing with odds like one-in-a-million," Chesley said. "Something with a one-in-a-hundred chance makes us sit up straight in our chairs."

The asteroid, designated 2007 WD5, is about 160 feet across, which puts it in the range of the space rock that exploded over Siberia. That explosion, the largest impact event in recent history, felled 80 million trees over 830 square miles.

The Tunguska object broke up in midair, but the Martian atmosphere is so thin that an asteroid would probably plummet to the surface, digging a crater half a mile wide, Chesley said.

The impact would probably send dust high into the atmosphere, scientists said. Depending on where the asteroid hit, such a plume might be visible through telescopes on Earth, Chesley said.

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, which is mapping the planet, would have a front-row seat. And NASA's two JPL-built rovers, Opportunity and Spirit, might be able to take pictures from the ground.

Because scientists have never observed an asteroid impact -- the closest thing being the 1994 collision of comet Shoemaker-Levy with Jupiter -- such a collision on Mars would produce a "scientific bonanza," Chesley said.

The asteroid is now behind the moon, he said, so it will be almost two weeks before observers can plot its course more accurately.

The possibility of an impact has the Solar System Defense Team excited.

"Normally, we're rooting against the asteroid," when it has Earth in its cross hairs, Chesley said. "This time we're rooting for the asteroid to hit."

Latest UFO Sightings - The Last Ones of 2007

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday. I enjoyed my time with family, (away from this darn computer), and we had a very nice dinner too...that's always a bonus, eh? But, I always seem to eat myself into oblivion. Ugh!

Now that it's all over, we can get back to the UFOs. These will be the last ones listed here at Anomaly blog for 2007. I can't wait to see what the new year will have in store for those of us in the UFO community.

Arizona-Casa Grande & Phoenix-11-30-11:30 PM-Pinal or Marricopa county-Witness and brother were driving to Phoenix and somewhere after Casa Grande a bright light about 45 degrees to the right caught their eye. They first thought they were seeing an airport light, but the light was not rotating as it should have been. The object/light was a very bright blue color, and glowed constantly. They were both mesmerized by its appearance, and both agreed it was brighter than any object they had ever seen in the skies of Phoenix. source: http://www.ufoinfo.com/

Minnesota-12-07-A man and his son were driving down Highway 169 heading north, when they noticed an unusual object in the sky. The object had white lights underneath, and red lights on the top and sides. It was ahead of them on the highway, but then began to descend toward the road. It then crossed the highway, and simply stopped. It then flew right over their car, and they got a good look at it. It then flew toward a light tower, and turned off its white lights, as if trying to blend in with the tower, and not be seen. They were exhilarated by what they saw. source: www.mufon.com

New Jersey-12-03-Witnesses: Debbie, Brienn and Chanel Fusco ages 53, 30, and 26 respectively, were all outside smoking at the rear of the reporter's mother-in-law's home in Seaville, NJ at about 11:00 PM. Soon, a large, low-flying craft of about 80 feet in length appeared from their left, and hovered near the house. The object had multi-colored lights, and produced a "whooshing" sound. The witnesses had the feeling they were being watched by the object, and were afraid. They could see that the UFO had no wings. England-1988-The witness was working at the Adelphi Theatre in London, England in 1988. He and a fellow worker/friend, were sitting on the roof having a cigarette during the intermission. They walked out the door to the roof for their break. While gazing at the sky, they both witnessed three red lights of an unknown nature. They were moving at a great speed, and at a high altitude. They both looked at each other, asking: "What the ___ was that?" Ohio-11-15-About 2:50 AM-One of our readers sent me this report: We were driving down County Road 16 near County Road L in Wauseon,Ohio, when my fiance said that he saw something in the night sky that looked like a car with its high-beams on. So naturally I looked to see what he was referring to, and as I did I started veering off the road so I stopped to get a better view. It really did look like headlights in the sky until it got closer to us. As it did, we noticed that there were actually 3 lights in a triangle pattern that were very bright with a smaller dimmer light in between the bottom 2. Then there was also a 4th light that wasn't as bright at the rear of the object that kind of made a diamond shape with the rest of the object. The object was flying very low at approximately 500-1,000 feet from the top of some trees.

It was flying much too slow to be a normal aircraft and it was so quiet. We could barely hear it make a noise. It sounded more like a hum instead of an engine. We stood there watching the object fly slowly over us until it was out of view. We got back in our truck and headed off to work. A few days ago we were watching a show on the History Channel called "UFO Files Episode 2." Flying Saucer Grove

I was digging through some Google images and came across the photo above, so I followed it to a website that explained what it was. It's the landscaping art at the BankAtlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The page says it was in 1998. Anyone know if the Flying Saucer Grove is still there? I'd love to see it in person. I think it's so cool! I wouldn't mind decorating my place like this - if'n I had the dough to put it together.

Description:
Renowned landscape artist Martha Schwartz, collaborating with architect Ellerbe Becket, designed this enormous 80,000-sq. ft. entry plaza to the arena. Inspired by the green and earth tones of the nearby Everglades, she created a design that enhances the entertainment theme of the arena, home of the Florida Panthers, along with concerts and extravaganza events.

The plaza design encompasses sixteen (16) light poles with canopy, each measuring 25 feet high; fourteen (14) seat planters made of fiberglass resin, 16 feet diameter, with colors mirrored the light canopies; stripped pattern paving throughout the plaza landscaping.

Latest UFO Sightings

Here are the latest UFO sightings as reported to Billy Booth at his UFO/Aliens website.

Florida-12-04-While walking his dogs at night, the witness was looking up into the sky on a clear starlit night. Several shooting stars had zoomed by not too many nights before, and the witness was hoping for an encore. At about 9:30 PM, a green orb was seen to fly over and then disappear. The witness thought at first he was seeing fireworks of some type. But, this object had made no sound, and had no trail. Also, the orb never changed shape, like it was solid in structure. It changed its course suddenly as it arched upward and away. source: www.mufon.com

Michigan-12-05-The witness was driving to work in the morning, heading north on US Highway 127, and noticed what he thought at first was a formation of planes flying overhead. This group was also moving north, parallel to the highway. It was also very low to the ground, and as the witness drove on down the road, its curve brought him directly under the formation. Getting a close look now, he was shocked to see it was not a group of planes, but a dark triangular UFO. He was taken back by its immense size-he estimated it to be as long as a football field! The object had a red and white light on each of its three points, with the front red light strobing as the object slowly moved from his field of sight. source: www.mufon.com

Minnesota-11-03-While deer hunting on November 3, near Brainerd just east of South Long Lake, our witness had just climbed up into his 18 foot tall stand. It sat on a 20 acre plot of acreage. He was waiting for the sun to rise, and soon noticed a strange object in the sky. The brightness of the object obscured its shape at first. The object moved to a position about 500 feet above a distant grove of trees. The witness described the object this way:

"It was a shiny cylinder on top, disc around the base and appeared to have 2 or 3 large super bright jets directly under the disc. It was rotating with a black spot on the cylinder. No identifying lights of any kind. Through my 30 06 9 X scope I could see the features more clearly. It hovered for 10 minutes (up and down a bit) then it drifted off slowly to the north out of site after another 10 minutes." source: www.mufon.com

New York-07-28-While relaxing on his boat, the witness saw a perfectly spherical object moving quite rapidly in a northwesterly direction. Rockland County is on the western bank of the Hudson River, and Westchester County is on the eastern bank along with Westchester County Airport. Corporate jets and smaller commercial airliners very frequently move in a westerly take off pattern, so he and his family are quite accustomed to seeing fast moving objects in the sky.

This object was totally different. It was a matte black, but also at times, appeared to not have any color. It was perfectly round with no lights of any kind, no sound from any engines, and no visible exhaust. Texas-August-2007-At about 5:00 PM in Leander, which is near Austin, our witness sighted a disc-shaped object in the sky moving toward the west. There are no airports near the location- the closest landmark was a lake about a mile away. The witness had his video camera with him, but when he tried to film the object, the view finder was real fuzzy, and the camera would not function. Once the UFO was out of sight the camera worked properly. The object soon moved out of his view. source: about.com reader

Is a New Solar Cycle Beginning?

The solar physics community is abuzz this week. No, there haven't been any great eruptions or solar storms. The source of the excitement is a modest knot of magnetism that popped over the sun's eastern limb on Dec. 11th, pictured below in a pair of images from the orbiting Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO).

It may not look like much, but "this patch of magnetism could be a sign of the next solar cycle," says solar physicist David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center.

For more than a year, the sun has been experiencing a lull in activity, marking the end of Solar Cycle 23, which peaked with many furious storms in 2000--2003. "Solar minimum is upon us," he says.

The big question now is, when will the next solar cycle begin?

It could be starting now.

"New solar cycles always begin with a high-latitude, reversed polarity sunspot," explains Hathaway. "Reversed polarity " means a sunspot with opposite magnetic polarity compared to sunspots from the previous solar cycle. "High-latitude" refers to the sun's grid of latitude and longitude. Old cycle spots congregate near the sun's equator. New cycle spots appear higher, around 25 or 30 degrees latitude.

The region that appeared on Dec. 11th fits both these criteria. It is high latitude (24 degrees N) and magnetically reversed. Just one problem: There is no sunspot. So far the region is just a bright knot of magnetic fields. If, however, these fields coalesce into a dark sunspot, scientists are ready to announce that Solar Cycle 24 has officially begun.

Many forecasters believe Solar Cycle 24 will be big and intense. Peaking in 2011 or 2012, the cycle to come could have significant impacts on telecommunications, air traffic, power grids and GPS systems. (And don't forget the Northern Lights!) In this age of satellites and cell phones, the next solar cycle could make itself felt as never before.

The furious storms won't start right away, however. Solar cycles usually take a few years to build to a frenzy and Cycle 24 will be no exception. "We still have some quiet times ahead," says Hathaway.

Meanwhile, all eyes are on a promising little active region. Will it become the first sunspot of a new solar cycle?

Space Aliens and UFOs Galore

Want to be abducted by space aliens?

Well, it might just be possible pretty soon! Perhaps by 2010.

An alien/UFO themed amusement park is in the planning stages in (can you guess???) Roswell, New Mexico. One of the rides will be the “world’s first alien abduction experience”. UFOs are crashed into buildings and space aliens sprout up in all sorts of places. Gift shops sell alien this and alien that. Aliens took over an old Denny’s and it is now the Roswell Coverup Café.

Aliens left their green footprints behind and even the streetlights support the alien theme.

And during the UFO Festival this July you can expect to see even more aliens!
